We’ve all been there. We’ve all felt that awkward feeling of sitting in a doctors’ office waiting room with 10 of your closest strangers watching the television, which always seems to be turned to a game show and the remote has been lost in the same land those pesky unmatched socks go.
Instead of joining in on the thrilling entertainment offered have you ever sat back and watched your company? I’m a people watcher by nature and I take every chance I can to observe those around me, sometimes to the point of verging on staring. I just can’t help it, it’s like a soap opera playing out before me.
Today, on the menu is the “pacer” the man who just can’t sit still and must inspect every inch of the room, even if he has already covered it three times…. it’s not going to change buddy. Then we have the children who are, surprisingly, well behaved although their loud video games are annoying and I’d love nothing more than to toss it out the large picture window. The lady on her phone telling her sister, I assume, about how her man “done her wrong last night” and should have “left that hoe a long time ago.” Finally, we have arrived at my personal favorite, the gentleman with the “too large for his face”, black glasses and a large flannel jacket that looks like he’s trying to burrow himself in there for winter reading the paper upside down… I have no words.
Folks, always find the humor in everything.
