Have you ever felt like you were important to someone? I mean really important to the point you knew without a doubt if you called on them they would come help you no matter what? It’s a good feeling, isn’t it? Just knowing you can count on someone to be there. Then there are those people who only make time for you when it’s convenient for them. The one’s who you really want to count on but just know when it comes down to it, they won’t put you first. This can also be true in a relationship.
The definition of an option is a thing that is or may be chosen. A priority is defined as a thing that is regarded more important than another. No matter what type of relationship it’s in reference to being an option isn’t fun.
Do you feel like you’re constantly competing for attention? Do your calls, texts, emails, and online messages go unanswered for long periods of time? Do they show an actual interest in your life when you talk about your day or do they easily change the subject? Are they secretive so much that it makes you suspicious but you’re sure there’s a logical reason? Do you feel taken advantaged of? Then, when you get fed up and confront them about it do they have excuses and reel you back in with sweet words and everything you want to hear?
Now let’s take all these and look at what being a priority means. Let’s be real, we all have to work and have a life. We get busy and can’t get the phone when it rings but if you are a priority to that person they will get back with you as soon as they can. More than likely that doesn’t happen all the time. When you have a conversation with them they are actively engaging in what you’re saying and are genuinely interested, if so, you’re probably a priority.
Intuition is everything. If you think they’re being secretive it’s because they are probably lying. Being taken advantage of is one of the worst feelings. If the person constantly asks for things or takes for granted your kindness, chances are good that you’re an option. Excuses mean lack of interest in you. Never forget that.
Everyone wants to hear they are important and are loved. When something is on the brink of being taken away from them, they will do anything to keep it and that includes sweet talk and empty promises.
Sometimes it’s hard to believe but I promise you that you are worth so much more than empty promises and hurt feelings. Life is way too short to live it being an option. You have so much to give this world that you should always be treated as a priority. Have faith in yourself and know your self worth. The right person will come into your life and treat you like the king or queen that you are!
